This season, Great Tower has the use of a 17-seater mini bus to use for the benefit of visitors to Great Tower, Moor Crag and Venture Forth Base. By prior arrangement, we can usually pick you up from Windermere Railway Station and return you there after your camp. We can also normally arrange to drop people off at local attractions, bus you down to our Water Activities Centre, take you nearer to your starting point for your local walk or hike and so on. Members of the Scout Association with a MiDAS certificate may also borrow the mini-bus (again by prior arrangement) where in addition to a small daily charge, the only cost is replacing the fuel that you use. Non-MiDAS drivers over 25 may also be allowed to drive if they are known to us. Speak to the office on 015395 31279 for further information and to book. The bus resides at Great Tower and is to be used from there as
it's base. Sadly, we cannot normally accommodate requests to borrow
the bus to take it away from Great Tower during the main season. |
